Leh-Ladakh

A list of key things you need to keep in mind while you are travelling to LehLadakh in Monsoons.

On your LEH LADAKH TOUR this monsoon, there is hardly any doubt of the serene views which you are going to enjoy and fall in love with. But here are a few things which you should keep in mind while travelling to the destination you have always dreamt of since months:

Be Prepared for Monsoon Hassles in Lower Hills:

You might face monsoon hassles at some parts of Manali-Leh Highway and Srinagar-Leh Region. Since Ladakh is a rain shadow region it is least affected by monsoon rains but landslides and roadblocks are going to be common in the lower regions especially between Manali to Keylong.

Be Prepared for driving in slush on roads:

This is for the avid bikers, be prepared to drive in slush on the roads especially from Rohtang Pass to Gramphu and some regions of Keylong. The stones below the slush can easily damage your engine chamber and leave you in the middle of nowhere so its important to know about the whereabouts of your engine chamber. Note: Do not push through too much if you get stuck, instead try the back and forth tactic or use a rubber mat.

Be prepared for tackling furious water crossings:

Many rivers and water crossings are going to flow in spate so if you are going to Leh-Ladakh on a motorcycle it is very important to wear gumboots which help you in dodging the overflowing water crossings and help you to keep your other boots dry so that you can ride further.

Be alert with shooting stones:

Shooting stones with small landslides are pretty much common here during the monsoons and that is why you need to be alert most of the times either you are driving a car, sitting in a car or riding a bike. It is advisable to be careful on the stretches which have loose gravel or mud.

Carry Water Resistant Clothes and boots:

Raincut jacket, water proof shoes or sandals, lowers with quick dry material are some of the many ways in which you can tackle rain. These essentials are also going to help you with keep your electronic materials safe.
We wish you good luck for your LEH LADAKH TOUR in the monsoons.
